Our Goal

Emerging and resourcing infectious disease in humans include those caused by arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses), such as Dengue and Zika viruses, transmitted by hematophagous mosquitoes, primarely Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Research in our laboratory aims to understand what factors make a vector a good vector for arboviruses to generate innovative strategies of vector control. We are also interested in insecticide resistance as currently insecticides are the primary tool to control mosquitoes.
